چکیده
Due to their nutritional value, alternative vegetable materials such as soybean are needed promote sustainable aquaculture development. However, phytate in could interfere with the protein digestion of fish body. This study examines effectiveness enzymes enhancing digestibility, growth performance, mineral digestion, and body chemical composition Sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus var. Sangkuriang) juveniles. The was completely randomized design 4 treatments 3 repetitions. One hundred thirteen juveniles (7.65 ± 0.14 g) were used for each repetition. fed an experimental diet supplemented various doses phytase enzyme: 0 (A), 500 (B), 1,000 (C), 1,500 (D) FTU/kg feed. efficiency ratio (PER), feed conversion (FCR), utilization (EFU), apparent digestibility coefficients (ADCp), relative rate (RGR), survival (SR) observed. Data analyzed using analysis variance followed by Duncan’s multiple range test. results showed that adding enzyme (C) exhibited highest PER, FCR, EFU, ADCp, RGR value compared other treatments. All treatment groups (B-C) had same SR (100%) crude ash content A group. group also a higher phosphorus, calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc, manganese, copper, cobalt. Therefore, supplementation improve

Effects of sesame seed meal and bambaranut meal on growth, feed utilization and body composition of juvenile African catfish Clarias gariepinus
Plant proteins are plausible fishmeal substitutes but are deficient in some essential amino acids (EAA) like lysine and methionine. Combination of different plant proteins with complimentary EAA could be useful alternative. Bambaranut (Voandzeia subterranea) contains high amount of lysine while methionine is in sesame seed (Sesamum indicum). This experiment tested effects of combining sesame se...

Most aquatic herbicides have undergone some toxicity testing for effects on non-target aquatic organisms, little of this testing has been conducted on early life stages of Clarias gariepinus. African catfish C. gariepinus were exposed to acute concentrations of glyphosate for 96hrs. The lethal concentration (LC ) 5O value of glyphosate was 0.295 mg l for 96h of exposure. The mean mortality perc...
